The appliance and the interior fittings are protected for transport. Remove all packaging and any adhesive tape. Ensure that the power plug has not been squashed or damaged during transit.
Clean the accessories and the inside of the appliance with warm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litres of water). Do not use any abrasive cleaners as these can damage the surfaces.
Ensure the appliance is situated in a well-ventilated room, away from heat sources such as radiators or boilers. The ambient temperature should be between 10 °C and 32 °C for optimal performance.
Ensure the appliance stands stable on the floor. Use the adjustable feet if necessary to level the appliance.
The appliance must have adequate ventilation to ensure correct operation. When installed under a cupboard, leave the required distance for ventilation.
Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. Connect the appliance to the mains supply and switch on.
After transportation, the appliance must not be switched on for 2 hours. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
Plug in the appliance and switch on at the mains supply. Turn the thermostat control to the required setting. A setting of 3 - 4 is usually suitable for normal operation.
Check if the door gasket is intact and clean. Ensure nothing is preventing the door from closing properly. If the ambient temperature is cold, the gasket may not fit perfectly; wait for it to naturally fit or use a hairdryer on a low setting to adjust.
